We were driving through Missouri, looking for somewhere to eat and saw a sign that says Dempsey‘s barbecue, we were greeted by our waitress Phoenix, who gave us her outstanding service and gave her recommendations on what to eat. We ordered a a platter with a full rack of ribs, mac & cheese, and coleslaw and another platter with brisket and robs, mac & cheese as well and baked beans. We were pleasantly shocked when we saw the sheer size of the full rack of ribs not only is it an amazing value for what it cost, but the flavor was spectacular. They had a perfect amount of smoke. They were tender and juicy and also when Phoenix recommended the sweet barbecue sauce that took it to the next level , thank you to Dempsey‘s barbecue for an awesome experience great food and an awesome environment and thank you you Phoenix for your amazing service. Hope to be back here again soon just for the food!
Passing through from Buffalo NY stopped by for lunch. Excellent ribs and brisket hands down!! Great fast service too!
Had a hankering for some BBQ while traveling from Virginia to Colorado. Stopped here and wasn't too disappointed. The place is a bit dated and dark, but the food was really good and the service was too. Seemed to be a favorite with Locals. The Sampler Platter was pretty generous. Ribs (two) weren't as meaty as most I've had. Except the chicken was a bit bland. Would still recommend the platter though. Speaking of bland, so was the Mac & Cheese...pretty flavorless. Wasn't the case with everything else though. Very good. Not the best BBQ I've ever had, but good for the price. Only bottled beer options and pretty limited. Mostly basic domestics. Tried the Boulevard (Wheat) and it complimented the food pretty well. Wouldn't go out of my way to get here, but if in the area I would stop again.
Awesome food! Service was a little slow but there was only one waitress and she was doing great with the whole place full. Adorable home town Cafe like old school BBQ! Definitely will be back when we stop though to charge our car again.
Tried a little bit of the menu. Pretty spacious inside we weren't to close to our neighbors. We had no idea what to order so it took us some time to look over the menu, our server Phonex was awesome! She was super friendly and patient with us. Even recommended we try the fries with burnt ends and they did not disappoint! Perfect place to sit and chat for hours while you enjoy some good ol BBQ!
Super fast and friendly service. Truly smoked BBQ. Excellent hand cut fries. We had pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich and combo sandwich. Everything was delicious. Walk in the door and the smell will make you hungry.
